6.7 Lean improvement cycle
- Value: Specify value from the perspective of the end customer: a specific product with specific capabilities, specific price and time.
- Value Stream: Identify the value stream and eliminate the waste (in activities, processes, and policies):
- Identify all the steps that creates value
- Eliminate all the steps do not create value.
- Flow: Flow products and service smoothly toward the customer.
- No waiting, no downtime, or waste within or between the steps.
- Pull: Let the customer demand pull value from the next upstream activity.
- Deliver only when the customer wants it.
- Perfection: Pursue perfection through continuous improvement.
- Remove the root causes of poor quality, zero defects.
