DSE will host ESEC/FSE 2011!

The 8th joint meeting of the European Software Engineering Conference (ESEC) and the ACM SIGSOFT Symposium on the Foundations of Software Engineering (FSE) will be held in Szeged, Hungary on September 5-9, 2011. The conference is organized and hosted by DSE.

DSE is now an accredited course provider of ISTQB CTFL scheme for certified software testing professionals

On April 13 2009, the Department of Software Engineering was officially certified to become an ISTQB-accredited organization offering courses based on the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level scheme. Our program is offered for testing professionals who are seeking professional knowledge based on internationally accepted syllabus, or preparing for official examinations. More information

French delegation at DSE

A delegation of French businessmen and ICT experts visited our department in order to establish relations with the Software Industry Innovation Pole Cluster, an entity with more than 30 ICT organizations including the Institute of Informatics of the University of Szeged.

DEN4DEK Kick-Off Meeting

The DEN4DEK kick-off meeting was held on 26-27th June 2008 in Barcelona. The project is funded under the CIP-ICT-PSP-2007 program of the European Union.

Article presented at ICPC'08 awarded as the Best Paper of the Conference

The article "Combining Preprocessor Slicing with C/C++ Language Slicing" by Department staff László Vidács, Judit Jász, Árpád Beszédes and Tibor Gyimóthy has been awarded as the Best Paper of the sixteenth IEEE International Conference on Program Comprehension (Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 10-13 June, 2008).

Hungarian Testing Board Founded with Active Participation of DSE

In March 2008, the Hungarian Testing Board, a subsidiary of the international organization ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) was officially founded. Árpád Beszédes, a DSE personnel, is a co-founder of this organization.

Favourable Proposal Evaluation from the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund

Our proposal called Efficient System-Level Impact Analysis Methods and Their Applications in Software Engineering has been favourably evaluated by the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund.

The project will start 1st April 2008 and last for 4 years.

CO-LLABS Thematic Network Starts 1st March

CO-LLABS stands for "Community Based Living Labs to Enhance SMEs Innovation in Europe". It is a Thematic Network in CIP ICT-PSP and will start on 1st of March 2008 with the duration of 28 months. It aims to achieve a European-wide adoption of ICT-based Living Lab services and practices to allow SMEs to improve their innovation capabilities and processes and become part of the “open innovation” environments.
