Software quality assurance service-package development for open document format applications

The goal of the project is to develop source code quality monitoring tools and services for software applied in the area of information technology, especially those conforming to the OpenDocument Format (ODF). Source code and process metrics will be developed, together with an ISO 9126 quality assurance scheme. The project also addresses the mobile and telecommunication environment, and will develop a tool that would validate ODF compatibility during document exchange between computer and mobile devices. Applicability of the tools and service-package will be tested and verified in pilot-environments. Main outcome of the project: Promoting ODF applications in the sofware market by making the development and maintenance of these applications more effective.

For the implementation of research tasks, a consortium was formed by three small and medium sized enterprises and three universities. The project through the R&D activities of the consortium contributes to increasing the competitiveness of Hungarian software industry and also the whole economy.
