Travelling to

Debrecen can easily be reached by both train and car. There is a frequent IC service from Budapest to travel by train, and the motorway N4 goes directly to Debrecen. The trains leave from the railway station Budapest-Nyugati, which can be reached by subway.

IC services:

A full price one-way ticket is 1330HUF. You need a reservation ticket for an IC train, which costs 290HUF. For a non-IC service please visit the Hungarian Railway Company's interactive timetable ELVIRA. Type in the name of the city (e.g. Debrecen) into the text box and find a suitable train.

Local transport:

The most comfortable (and simplest) way of travelling around the town is the tram line. The ticket costs 70HUF, but during the Summer School travelling by tram will be free for the participants. Other possibilities for local travel are buses and trolley-buses.
