Introduction

  The Department was founded in 2003. The Department offers courses on different areas of algorithm theory and artificial intelligence on each level of education (BSc, MSc, PhD). Our collegues are participating in the research of these areas. The researchers of the Department have organized in 2003 the ALGO 2003 symposium which is one of the most important conferences on algorithms theory.
