The idea of GoFDeR came to our mind in the summer of 2012. We felt  there is a need of clarifying the terms related to the forensic science, because many times there is misunderstanding about the meaning of several terms. Several differences exists even between the scientist from different nations.  We visited conferences and workshops and had heard regularly, there is a need for a ''common language'', so we decide to do something.

The idea of GoFDeR came to our mind in the summer of 2012. We felt there is a need of clarifying the terms related to the forensic science, because many times there is misunderstanding about the meaning of several terms. Several differences exists even between the scientist from different nations. We visited conferences and workshops and had heard regularly, there is a need for a common language, so we decide to do something.

This glossary seemed to be a good idea to help both the forensic scientist and the pattern recognition community.
