A field of study that is utilized in the judicial process. A number of scientific disciplines commonly make up the more active segments of forensic science. Some are derived from the physical, medical and dental sciences, and the best-qualified workers specialize in the court- oriented aspects of each discipline. Questioned document examination is a notable part of forensic science in that it developed directly from the need of court experts to answer problems regarding documents instead of evolving from established fields of science
