SZOTE-PACS

SZOTE-PACS is the Picture Archiving and Communication System of Albert Szent-Gyorgyi Medical University. It is able to collect studies from CT, MR, SPECT, US and modalities and convert them into DICOM format. The DICOM studies can be edited, modified, verified and transferred to the archiving server. There is a graphic application based on Oracle for searching in the database.The archived studies can be presented and/or processed on the viewing workstations. SZOTE-PACS also supports the creation and presentation of educational materials for medical students.

SZOTE-PACS

• computer network of imaging modalities, archiving server and workstations,
  
• collect, convert, transfer, archive, retrieve, present and process studies
  
• using it in the training of graduate and PhD medical students.
  
• 15 day long temporary storage then remove the images, but keep study headers
  
• ability to search in the database by windowed Oracle application

• secured information handling by Oracle userids/passwords, different database views for different classes of users
  

DATA COLLECTION

• collection of studies from different stations
  
• PC, UNIX and Amiga clients
  
• conversion of the different formats (TIFF, Interfile, ACR-NEMA) to DICOM 3.0

• connection with RIS (Radiology Information System) taking the data from RIS automatically
  
• transfer of DICOM studies from the modalities (acquisition stations) to the archiving server

ARCHIVATION

• collection of DICOM studies from different acquisition stations (via NFS or according to DICOM protocol)
