József Molnár was born in 1964. He graduated from the in 1988 (MSc in mechanical engineering/mathematical engineering). He received his PhD from Eötvös Loránd University in 2011 under the supervision of Dmitry Chetverikov. He won the 2011-2012 KEPAF dissertation prize for his thesis.
His research interests are in the variational image processing methods, including optical flow estimation, image segmentation using active contours and 3D reconstruction.
Currently he is research associate at University of Szeged.
