This makes the conversion of an analog signal to a digital representation indispensable.<\/p>\n<p>When performing this conversion, however, it is key to be able to correctly represent and reproduce the analog signal without inducing signal loss. A standard sampling procedure will be discussed (linked to the Nyquist theorem). Next, the consequences of undersampling will be explained.
