Szeged, Hungary, July 20-23, 2000
Welcome to the Organizing
Committee's home page.
38 manuscriptcs arrived, all of them are now sent to the respective journals. The first referee reports are to be expected still in this year, the authors will be informed directly by the editors.
The TiszaneT Rt. offered an award (25 000 HUF) for the best network related
paper (with a Hungarian author). The price was awarded to Z. Heszberger, J. Zatonyi, and J. Biro, for their paper: "Efficient Resource Usage Techniques in
Multiservice Networks" on the basis of the suggestion of the editors of the
Periodica Polytechnica handling the network oriented papers.

The bad news is that due to the accommodation shortage in Szeged, three persons must share a student dormitory room (as usual), at least when (as we hope) all the registered participants arrive.
Between 16.07 and 19.07 Tibor Csendes will be unavailable (participating the EURO conference in Budapest), so all questions in this interval should be addressed to Eva Gombas: gombas@inf.u-szeged.hu, (62) 544000 [ext. 3405], or fax: (62) 420 292.
The excursion will involve some sports activities (e.g. football, volleyball, and tennis, when the wheather is fine), so please bring with you sport shoes and swimming suit too.
Projectors: overhead projectors will be available in both lecture rooms, so tranparencies / slides are welcome. There will be also computers (internet connection, M$-Windows 95, Power Point) with projectors (640 x 480 resolution with 256 colors). The latter equipment is rather old, so the organizers suggest to bring also slides on the talks for safety reason.
There is a possibility to publish the paper version of the talks in special issues of the journals Acta Cybernetica (Szeged) and Periodica Polytechnica (Budapest). The mathematics oriented papers come to Publicationes Mathematicae (Debrecen). Those who want to contribute should prepare the manuscripts and send three hard copies to Tibor Csendes (H-6701 Szeged, Pf 652) by 31st of August, 2000. All received manuscripts will be confirmed by an email. The manuscripts must contain complete mailing and email addresses. The Scientific Committee will assign the papers to the appropriate journals. Be prepared that the electronic version of the manuscript will be asked immediately after notification of the acceptance (e.g. in case of Acta Cybernetica a Latex file will be required). To get acquianted with the style of the journals please study earlier issues of them. One sample paper is available here (latex file), or as a postscript gzipped file . There is no length limitation.
Final version of the abstract book (in gzipped PS format):
