| Travel  Information
Szeged is located about 170 kilometers to the south of Budapest, the  capital of Hungary. It can be reached from Budapest by car or by train.By car it takes about 1.5 hours, 160 kilometers on  the M5 toll motorway.
 Trains from Budapest to Szeged leave at Nyugati station (Nyugati pu.,  Nyugati pályaudvar). Each train has Szeged as its destination. The trains make  a stop at the station Kőbánya-Kispest which is located close to the  international airport.
 
 If you arrive by plane to Budapest, you will land at the
International Airport Ferihegy, Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.
 From both terminals you can get to any railway station or hotel in 
Budapest by
the Airport Minibus service.
 The fare is for one way: 2300 HUF, return: 3900 HUF.
 
 Alternatively, you might use a taxi.  A new operator, called 
Zóna Taxi
offers fixed maximum fares from the airport, e.g., 3500 HUF to the
Western Railway Station (Nyugati pu.)
 
 To go to the railway station Kőbánya-Kispest, you may
also use the regular Airport Bus (no. 200) from both terminal
and also bus no. 93 from Terminal 1. Their timetables can be found

 Note that bus no. 93 does not operate on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday.
 
 The bus ride takes about 25 minutes to station
Kőbánya-Kispest. Station Nyugati can be reached from Kőbánya-Kispest
by metro. Public transportation tickets are available form newspaper
agents, ticket machines located at underground stations.
Tickets are valid for all means of municipal transport.

To go to Hotel Novotel, Hotel  Mátrix, and Hotel Dóm you may alternatively use tram no. 1 leaving from the  square in front of the station („Szeged Pályaudvar”). It takes 4 stops  („Somogyi utca”) to Hotel Dóm, 6 stops ("Annaforrás") to Hotel  Novotel. To reach Hotel Novotel or Hotel Mátrix, change to tran no. 4 at the  6th stop („Annaforrás”). The hotels are located at the first stop at tram no.  4direction North.Your hotel will be within 1 to 10 minutes walking distance from the stop  where you get off. Tram tickets should be bought in advance at the ticket office  outside the station building or from newsagents.
