By Bus
Direct bus lines are available from/to many cities in Hungary and neighboring countries. You can check the bus schedules on the menetrendek.hu.
By Car
You can reach Szeged on the M5 motorway from Budapest (toll required). Other main routes include the M43 from the east, route 47 from the north-east, and route 55 from the west.
Travel in Szeged
Public Transport (Trams, Trolleys, Buses)
Szeged has a comprehensive public transport network. As the conference locations are close to each other in the downtown area, you might only need public transport when arriving, leaving, or exploring the city. The main conference building is easily reachable by tram line #2 from the main railway station ("Nagyállomás").
Tickets can be purchased at kiosks, from ticket machines, or on board some vehicles. For convenience, consider using a mobile ticket app or purchasing daily or multi-day passes.
By Car
Szeged has three main ring roads. While you can reach the inner ring (Tisza Lajos körút) from any avenue, be cautious when entering the downtown area inside the inner ring, as there are many traffic restrictions. Paid parking zones are in effect on weekdays (and sometimes weekends) in the city center. You can pay at parking machines or via mobile apps/SMS.
