Bioinformatics

Over the past few years in almost every field of biology the importance of computers has grown drastically. Computer applications now play an indispensable part in the extraction, processing and evaluation of the data generated during biological investigations.

Research Area

My research objectives in the field of Bioinformatics are:

- the application of machine learning methods (Kernel methods) to solve problems in bioinformatics
- building of phylogenetic trees, protein classification and novel sequence comparison methods
