In 2009, Bitcoin was proposed as a digital secure way for safe and cheap digital money transaction. The success achieved by Blockchain, which is one of the main foundations of Bitcoin excited the integration of this secure technology with other applications. Blockchain is defined as a decentralized, secure and transparent system that is considered as a promising technology to address critical issues of conventional centralized networks and drive the next generation of the Cloud of Things CoT. In this lecture, the definition, components, and drawbacks of Blockchain will be illustrated. The process of adding a new block to the chain will be explained. And the possible fields where blockchain technology can be used will be discussed.
